Dennis Charles (Rhythm People/Rhythm People Records), born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, developed an early passion for music, influenced by genres like pop, heavy metal, and later electronic music. His journey into DJ culture began in the mid-1990s after a transformative experience at a club in Akron, Ohio, where he immersed himself in the underground scene. Starting as a DJ in 1994, he expanded into event promotion and music production by the late 1990s. His style blends psychedelic, ambient dub, minimal techno, and house, inspired by artists like The Orb, Plastikman, The Cure and My Bloody Valentine. Rhythm People Records also serves as a platform for a multi-cultural music collective, featuring acts like Soul Reflector, Dub Hustler, Prophets of Dub and other experimental artists.
